Biography

Alexandria Reid is currently leading Global Witness’s forest campaign, managing a team of over 10 dedicated journalists and campaigners across the UK, EU, US, and Brazil to deliver high-impact advocacy and investigations on nature finance. This role is being undertaken as maternity cover for the talented Naomi Hirst.

She is a permanent Senior Global Policy Adviser at Global Witness, specializing in sustainable finance, climate, and nature.

In addition, she serves as a technical adviser to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) Spring nature stewardship initiative. Previously, she led the finance and organised environmental crime research programme at The Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) and served as Deputy Chair of the Strategic Hub for Organised Crime Research (SHOC). Her research has included fieldwork across Europe and Africa, and she has presented findings to the UK Parliament, Financial Action Task Force (FATF), European Parliament, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and other key institutions.

She is also the co-author of Ports, Crime and Security: Governing and Policing Seaports in a Changing World, published by Bristol University Press.
