Responsible sourcing, supply chain transparency, data sovereignty and artisanal mining/trade involving high-value commodities such as ‘blood’ diamonds, ‘conflict’ gold, coltan and cobalt and their gendered implications have been a large focus of her work in recent years. This work includes considerations of the gendered implications of enforcement and verification mechanisms intended to address illegal trade and illicit financial flows. IMPACT supports women in artisanal mining communities to participate more fully in local governance structures and to assume leadership roles in environmental stewardship and conflict mitigation.
