Atong Amos Agook (@Atongdeng90) is a human right activist and peace advocate working with women and youth communities in Juba, South Sudan. She participated in the 2018 Khartoum Peace talks on South Sudan, as women’s and civil society representative. She is the Founder and Executive Director of the Aliab Rural Development Agency (ARUDA), a grassroots organisation working on human rights, women and youth empowerment, access to justice, girl child education and early child marriage prevention in emergency settings.
In addition to providing leadership to the organization, Atong has designed various programs and workshops to provide training in trauma counselling, entrepreneurial skills, advocacy, awareness of the issues related to gender based violence for women in communities and to the internally displaced.
